Devil's Council

Privacy

Devil's Council is run by TJL Family Holdings No.2 Pty Ltd (ABN 56 693 693 408), Victoria, Australia. This page explains what we collect and why. We follow the Australian Privacy Principles as a matter of practice. Last updated 25 October 2026.

The waitlist

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, the option you're interested in, and anything you tell us you'd like reviewed. With it we also store the campaign tag in the link you arrived on, a random session id, your country and your browser type, so we can tell which posts bring people in. It's kept with our hosting provider, Cloudflare, whose servers may be outside Australia. We use it only to contact you about Devil's Council and to understand where sign-ups come from. We don't sell it or share it with anyone else. You can unsubscribe or ask us to delete it at any time.

Visits to this site

We count page events (for example, that someone viewed the pricing section), with the campaign tag in the link you arrived on and a random session id. On their own these don't identify you. If you then join the waitlist, the same session id is stored with your email, so your page events can be linked to your sign-up.

We also use Cloudflare Web Analytics, which counts visits and page loads without cookies and without identifying you.

The TikTok pixel

We post on TikTok and may advertise there, so this site can use the TikTok pixel to tell us whether our TikTok posts and ads lead to visits and sign-ups. When it's switched on, it records that you viewed the page, clicked "Convene the council" or joined the waitlist. TikTok also receives your IP address, browser and device details, and may set cookies, so it can match those events to its users and measure our ads. TikTok handles that information under its own privacy policy, and some of it is processed outside Australia.

We never send TikTok your email address or anything you type into our form.

To opt out: open the site with ?notrack=1 at the end of the address (for example devilscouncil.com/?notrack=1), which this browser remembers. Or turn on Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control in your browser. Either way, the pixel doesn't load. You can also block third-party cookies in your browser settings.

Documents you send for review

When you send a document, it is processed by AI providers (Anthropic and OpenAI) through their business APIs to produce your ruling, and part of the ruling checks facts with live web searches. Some processing happens outside Australia, including in the United States. Those providers don't use business API data to train their models.

In the beta you send documents by email, so your email provider and ours (Cloudflare, which forwards our mail, and Google, which hosts our inbox) also handle them. Once your ruling is sent, we delete the document, the email it came in, our working copy of the ruling and the reply in our sent mail. Your own inbox keeps your copy. We keep your email address and a short record of each ruling (when it ran, how long the document was, what it cost us and whether you paid) to manage your free rulings and credits. That record doesn't include the document's contents.

To stop the same document getting several free rulings, we may keep a one-way fingerprint (a hash) of it. A hash can't be turned back into your document.

Who sees your document

In the beta, a person sees it: our founder runs each ruling and reads it before it's sent, to catch mistakes. Nobody else at Devil's Council sees it. The AI providers process it through their business APIs and may keep API data for a limited time for abuse monitoring, under their own terms; they don't use it to train their models.

Only send what you're allowed to share. If you send a client's document, make sure your client agrees to it being reviewed by an AI service and by us, and leave out personal information that doesn't need reviewing. Don't send material under a confidentiality agreement or tender conditions that don't allow it.

Payments

Payments are handled by Stripe. We don't see or store your card details.
